Lake Negova - Negova Castle

Access to starting point:
We leave Pomurska highway at exit Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici, and then we follow the road towards Radenci. And soon after we leave the highway, we go left towards Negova and also in the next crossroads, we follow the road towards Negova and castle Negova. We leave the road towards Negova at the spot, where signs for Ivanjski Vrh and Lake Negova (Negovsko jezero) point us to the left on a side road which descends a little. When we get to the settlement Ivanjski Vrh we go right towards the lake, by which we park on an appropriate place, only few meters away from the marked path.

Path description:
From the starting point, we go on a macadam road in the direction of Negova and Sveti Trije Kralji. We at first walk through the forest, where the path leads us a little south from the lake, and for the view of the lake, we have to go few steps from the path. After few minutes, the road comes out of the forest and changes into a cart track which starts gradually ascending. The path ahead leads us among meadows and fields, and higher it brings us to the settlement Kunova, where we step on the asphalt road. We follow the road to the right, and at the nearby crossroad, we go left. A little further, the road slightly descends and it brings us to the next crossroad, where blazes point us to the right, and the asphalt road we leave few 10 strides ahead, where a signpost of Pomurje mountain trail points us left downwards on a macadam road. Next follows a steeper descent through the forest, and when the forest ends, the path also flattens. On a gently sloping path we go on the other side of the meadow, where at the crossroad we go to the right. We continue by the edge of the forest, and higher we go through a lane of a forest, after which we reach the road towards Negova.
The road which we reach at the chapel we follow to the left, and it quickly brings us to the spot, where on the left side, few 10 strides from the asphalt road we notice Hunting cottage LD Negova.
From the hunting cottage, we continue on the asphalt road which past individual houses, chapel and the fire station brings us to a crossroad below the church in Negova. Here we continue slightly left and in few steps we get to the church in Negova, and Negova Castle is situated few more 10 strides to the right.
