Ljubelj - Dom na Zelenici (border guard path)

Access to starting point:
We drive to the border crossing Ljubelj, where before the tunnel we turn left towards Zelenica, and then we park on a parking lot behind the store Kompas shop.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on a transport road which ascends to the bottom station of the former one-seater chairlift Zelenica I, and on a steep transport road we continue on a ski track. After a short ascent, we will on the right notice well visible footpath and a little ahead next to it also sign "fair play", which means, that we share footpath with both mountaineers and cyclists. After a short ascent, the path passes into the forest, where it turns left and then continues on slopes of Ljubeljščica. Further, we cross bigger torrent, from where a nice view opens up towards Begunjščica, and then through the forest also larger number of smaller gullies, where passages aren't difficult. Higher, we step out of the forest and few 10 strides ahead also on a transport road.
On the road, we ascend past Jančmanov kot (bench and table with a nice view), and after few 10 meters we continue sharply right, on the path which at first diagonally ascends towards the right, and then turns left and crosses slopes towards the left. Further, we are ascending diagonally above transport road, and then we cross a little steeper gully and smaller slide, from which a beautiful view opens up towards surrounding mountains. After a panoramic crossing, the path returns into the forest and is few minutes ascending diagonally on slopes of Spodnji Plot, and higher we also cross old ski track. After "ski slope" path leads through a lane of a forest and then in a minute or two, we descend to the mountain hut Dom na Zelenici.
