Access to starting point:
A) From Ljubljana, we drive on the highway towards Koper and we go to the exit Unec. At the crossroad, we continue right in the direction of Planina, where at the crossroad we turn sharply left towards Postojna (to here possible also on the old road). Further, we drive through Planina and at the spot, where we notice signs for settlements Strmca and Studeno we turn right. The road soon brings us to the next crossing, where it says left Postojna, straight Strmca and Studeno, and right doesn't say anything. Here we continue straight and we follow the road to the village Lohača, where we turn right in the direction of Planinska gora. We park immediately behind the village on a parking lot by the road.
B) From Postojna on the old road we drive towards Ljubljana. Soon behind the village Mačkovec at the sharp right turn road towards the village Strmca branches off to the left. This road then soon brings us to the next crossing, where we continue left towards the village Strmca and Studeno. When the road brings us in the village Lohača we turn right towards Planinska gora. We park immediately behind the village on a parking lot by the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road by which we've parked. Already after few ten meters road goes into the forest through which it is moderately ascending. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, we come out of the forest and immediately after that on a crossroad. Here we continue on the left road in the direction of the mountain hut Polšak (Poljšak). The road then crosses a larger meadow and then goes again in the forest, where we soon come on crossroad, where we continue on the left road. From the road which runs almost horizontal later some rough roads branches off to the right. Here at all crossroads, we continue straight and the road after a time brings us at two successive crossroads. In both we continue, on the road which is gently descending. We follow this road for approximately half an hour to the next crossroad where we notice a mountain hut Polšakova koča.
