Lokev - Kokoš

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Koper we go to the exit Divača and we follow the road ahead in the direction of village Lokev and Lipica. The road then quickly brings us in the village Lokev, where we will immediately after cemetery notice a narrow road which turns left (turn-off of the road is 10 meters before the end of the village). We can park on a smaller parking lot by the cemetery or we drive on the macadam road a little further and then we park on one of the smaller parking lots by the road.

Path description:
From the cemetery we continue on a gently sloping macadam road which quickly brings us to the first crossroad (at the chapel), where we continue right in the direction of »Kokoška«. Macadam road which crosses numerous karst meadows after approximately half an hour of walking, it brings us to the foot of the mountain (option for a starting point).
We continue on a wide cart track in the direction of »Kokoš 1 hour«. At first relatively gently sloping cart track in the lower part has few crossings, but they are all well-marked. Higher the cart track starts ascending steeper and gradually changes into relatively wide footpath which higher brings us to a forest road. We continue right and in few additional minutes of walking, we step on the summit of Kokoš on which there is a mountain hut.
