Lovrenc na Dravskem polju - Ptujska Gora

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Slovenska Bistrica - sever, and then we follow the signs for Ptuj. The road towards Ptuj we leave at the signs for Cirkovce, and from Cirkovce we follow the road towards Lovrenc na Dravskem polju. In Župečja vas, which is situated before Lovrenc na Dravskem polju we go left and then we already get to Lovrenc na Pohorju, where we have several options for parking. We can park at the cemetery, sports field or somewhere elsewhere in the center of the settlement. And further described path starts at the chapel of St. Vera, to which we have few minutes of walking.
B) We leave the Podravje highway at exit Hajdina, and then we follow the signs for Slovenska Bistrica and Hajdina. The road towards Slovenska Bistrica we quickly leave and we turn left in the direction of Kidričevo. Further, we drive through Kidričevo, and when we get to Apače we go from the roundabout right in the direction of Lovrenc na Dravskem polju, where we have several options for parking. We can park at the cemetery, sports field or somewhere elsewhere in the center of the settlement. And further described path starts at the chapel of St. Vera, to which we have few minutes of walking.
C) We drive to Ptuj, and then we follow the signs for Lovrenc na Dravskem polju and Ptujska Gora. When we get to Lovrenc na Dravskem polju we park on one of the parking lots in the settlement. We can by the sports field, cemetery or somewhere else in the settlement. And further described path starts at the chapel of St. Vera, to which we have few minutes of walking.

Path description:
From the cemetery or from the sports field we go to the parish church of St. Lovrenc, and a little behind it we go right and by the edge of the road, we continue to a triangular crossroad, in the middle of which there is a chapel of St. Vera.
At the chapel first yellow blazes of Camino de Santiago route show up, and we go right and we continue walking towards the south. Only a little further, we go from a wider road right, where also signs of Camino de Santiago route point us to, and then at the next two crossroads we continue straight or slightly left.
The path ahead leads us among fields, and before the bridge over Polskava from the right joins also the path, if we would start walking at the sports field and we would go from the starting point towards the south. A little further, we cross another smaller watercourse, and when few minutes later we get closer to the forest, we go behind the cross right and we gradually start lightly ascending. The path ahead leads us past a joinery, and for few minutes we are still lightly ascending, and after a smaller crossroad, where we continue on a slightly left road, the path becomes steeper. Higher for some time a view opens up a little and then at the religious symbol we reach a small saddle, where we go right. The path ahead leads us past few houses, and then the road passes into the forest, where at the left turn it splits.
Signs of Camino de Santiago route point us right into the forest, and signs of Camino de Santiago route are also if we continue on the road.
If we continue on the road at two crossroads we continue straight, and then we already get to the chapel of St. Rok, where joins also the path, if we continue through the forest.
And from the crossroad behind the chapel, we go right (sharply to the right leads the road towards the hamlet Selce), where we quickly get to the cemetery and the church of St. Lenart. After the cemetery we reach the parking lot, and behind it at the smaller crossroad we go left. Next follows few more 10 strides of walking and at the religious symbol we leave the road and on the stairs, we ascend to basilica on Ptujska Gora, from where a beautiful view opens up.
