Lož - Grad Lož (Pusti grad)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Koper we go to the exit Unec, and then we follow the road in the direction of Cerknica and ahead in the direction of Bloška Polica. In Bloška Polica, at the crossroad we continue right towards Lož, Loška dolina and Snežnik. Further, the road leads past the turn-off of the road towards the cave Križna jama, and after a short descent, we already get to the settlement Lož, where we park on an appropriate place. Best somewhere nearby company Kovinoplastika Lož d.d., or TIC Lož.
B) From Velike Lašče or surroundings of Ribnica ahead we drive in Nova vas na Blokah, and from there we continue driving towards Cerknica, but only to the settlement Bloška Polica, where we turn left towards Lož, Loška dolina and Snežnik. Further, the road leads past the turn-off of the road towards the cave Križna jama, and after a short descent, we already get to the settlement Lož, where we park on an appropriate place. Best somewhere nearby company Kovinoplastika Lož d.d., or TIC Lož.

Path description:
From the spot, where we've parked at first we walk to TIC Lož (road 19th October 49), where we notice an information board. We continue on the asphalt road which continues between TIC on the left and company Kovinoplastika Lož d.d. on the right. At the end of the factory asphalt road changes into macadam and it starts lightly ascending. After few 10 strides of walking on a macadam we get to a smaller crossroad, where signs for castle Loški grad point us on the road which continues straight. After nearby cross, worse road which in the meantime already changed into a cart track for some time passes out of the forest, turns left and leads us by the pasture. At the crossings, we follow the signs for castle Loški grad, cart track on which we walk quickly returns into the forest or partly also bushes. Signs for castle Loški grad only a little further point us to the left on a moderately steep footpath which is at first ascending diagonally towards the right, and then with the help of one more sign turns sharply left. Next follows an ascent on a little more overgrown footpath which is ascending towards the ruins of the castle. When little before the wall we step at the smaller crossing, we continue left (right footpath leads around wall, but because of the overgrowth ends before we come half way around castle), and then through a little lower passage in wall we step on inner side of the wall, from where a short ascent follows on a panoramic peak.
