Maribor Island - Kalvarija (church of St. Barbara)

Access to starting point:
- From highway from the direction of Murska Sobota towards Maribor, we go to the exit Maribor-north.
- We join highway through Maribor (Maribor-north, Dravograd).
- From the highway we go to the exit Dravograd, Maribor-center and we follow the signs in the direction of Dravograd.
- We drive through town Maribor towards Kamnica.
- In Kamnica we turn left towards Maribor Island (Mariborski otok).
- We park on a parking lot before the island.

Path description:
- The beginning of the path on a parking lot before Maribor island.
- From the parking lot, we go towards Maribor, on a macadam path.
- The path leads us by the river Drava to the inn Koblarjev zaliv.
- At the crossroad, after the inn we turn left on an asphalt path.
- The path leads us to the next crossroad, where we turn right towards sports center Fontana.
- We continue through town Maribor (road Gosposvetska cesta - street Turnerjeva ulica - road Vrbanska cesta).
- We get to bar Mitnica, after which we turn right towards sports hall Vrbanska and Biotechnical school Maribor.
- In fron of us already a view opens up towards the stairs on Kalvarija (štenge).
- We continue upwards on the stairs and at the top we turn right.
- We continue towards the church of St. Barbara.
- At the next crossing, we turn left and after few meters we continue through the forest (we turn again left, towards the church).
- We continue uphill.
- On the top of the hill there is the church of St. Barbara, which is also the destination of our path.
- The entire path is approximately 3.5 km long, approximately 45 min of walking.
