Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Celje we go to the exit Šempeter and follow the road ahead in the direction of Šempeter. In Šempeter we turn right in the direction of village Šešče pri Preboldu and then we drive towards the village Matke. When we come to Matke, we continue driving along the stream to a large meadow, where by the stream we notice signs for Golava and Hom. We park on a parking lot by the road, and a little larger parking lot is 100 meters ahead.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on a meadow, in the direction of Hom (the meadow on the opposite side of the road as the stream, direction east). Through the meadow we diagonally ascend towards the left, where we notice a marked path, which through a meadow isn't visible. A quite an overgrown path, after 15 minutes of walking, it brings us to the house, where we continue right on a cart track, in the direction of Kamnik. And from the cart track after additional few steps of walking, a marked footpath branches off to the left, which goes past the water catchment into the forest. A moderately steep path then quickly brings us to climbing areas, after which the path is becoming increasingly steep. The steep path then brings us on a vegetated, northwestern ridge of Kamnik. This ridge path, from which occasionally a view opens up, we follow to the bivouac on Kamnik.
