We drive to Mojstrana and follow the signs for ski slope at the foot of the which we park on a marked macadam parking lot. The ski slope is located near the church of St. Klemen.
Path description:
From the parking lot at the foot of the ski slope we at first walk on an asphalt road, and at the crossroads, we follow the signs for valleys Radovna, Kot and Krma. When Mojstrana ends we go on the first cart track left, and it turns to the right into a lane of a forest. By the edge of the meadow, to which we quickly get to, we go left and then before we get on the route of the ski slope, we go right on a footpath which continues through the forest. A little further follows crossing of gravel terrain, where the footpath for some time vanishes, and on the other side it again becomes clearly visible. When the footpath gets closer to the torrent, we leave it and we follow the remains of some sort of a footpath which runs on the left side of the torrent, and a little ahead it brings us into a torrent. For a short time, we are ascending through the torrent, where we have to be careful on loose rocks, at the bigger rock (picture 21) we leave the torrent and from there we continue right upwards, where quickly appears a relatively easy to follow, but poorly beaten path which starts ascending steeply. At first, we are ascending on a forested slope, which higher passes into an indistinct groove, and there we ascend to the ridge, where the footpath flattens and turns a little to the left. Next follows few minutes of walking on the ridge and at the bench with a view on Kepa, we join the normal marked path.
From the bench we continue on a marked path, which is then steeply ascending on northwestern slopes of Mežakla. Higher besides the path also the slope becomes quite steep, therefore mainly in wet on some spots, it is also dangerous for slipping. We are steeply ascending to the altitude approximately 1300 meters and then the path flattens and it brings us on the edge of plateau Mažakla, where at NOB monument we leave the marked path and we continue left on pathless terrain towards Mali vrh.
We at first walk gently, and after few 10 strides, we start ascending steeper on an indistinct southwestern ridge of Mali vrh. After few minutes of the pathless ascent we reach Mali vrh, from which a view opens up a little in the direction of Karawanks.
