Moravče - Dom na Slivni (via Pivkelj)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Krtina, and then we continue driving in the direction of Moravče. In Moravče we continue right and we park on a marked parking lot near the parish church.
B) From the direction Zasavje at first we drive in Izlake, and from there we continue driving towards Moravče. In Moravče, at the crossroad near the church, where the main road turns right, we continue straight and we park on a marked parking lot near the parish church.

Path description:
From the center of Moravče we continue by the main road which leads towards Izlake. We at first walk on a sidewalk, a little after company Nissan Krulc, we go slightly right on the road in the direction of settlements Ribče and Dešen and mountain hut Planinski dom Ušte - Žerenk. The path ahead starts ascending on a little narrower asphalt road, from which when we look back a nice view opens up towards Limbarska gora, and in good visibility, the view reaches all to the highest peaks of Kamnik Savinja Alps. Soon after Moravče ends, we get to a hamlet Podbrdo, where we leave the asphalt road and we continue left in the direction of the mountain hut and Sveti Miklavž.
Behind the houses, which we bypass on the left side, the path goes into the forest and starts ascending a little more, and quite quickly it also splits.
We choose the left path (right Sveti Miklavž), which is ascending diagonally towards the left, and higher it widens into a newer cart track. Few minutes we are ascending on the mentioned cart track, and then again on a footpath which higher crosses the macadam road, and few 10 strides higher we reach an asphalt road which we follow to the left. We walk on the road to a smaller saddle, where blazes point us to the left, on the path which crosses a panoramic meadow, through which with nice views, we walk to the nearby mountain hut.
From the mountain hut, we continue straight in the direction of Zgornja Slivna and the peak Pivkelj, where through a lane of a forest we reach an asphalt road. Further, we walk past the ranch Pr Oselet, where at the smaller crossroad we go on the bottom road, and at the next crossroad, we choose the upper right road, on which also signs for GEOSS point us to. Next follows an ascent through the forest, and the road quickly turns right and splits. We choose the left macadam road (the right road leads to the near house), on which we are ascending to a hamlet Štance Laze. In the mentioned hamlet, the road flattens, and we walk there to a marked crossing, where we go right on the path in the direction of Pivkelj and GEOSS (straight - unmarked path towards St. Florijan, Zgornja Gora and GEOSSu past St. Florijan).
Next follows some more entirely easy walking by the edge of the forest and then blazes lead us in the forest, and the path for some time also descends. The descent doesn't last long, and then after few minutes of ascent we reach the cart track, where we go left (right we get to the top of the quarry Ušenišče, which is also pointed out by a quite old warning sign).
On a gentle cart track we walk to the nearby marked crossing, where signs for Pivkelj point us to the right (straight - Zgornja Slivna and GEOSS).
Next follows a little less than 5 minutes of ascent and we reach a forested peak, where we can rest on the bench.
From the top, we on the same path descend to a crossing, where we left the cart track, and then we continue right (straight - if we don't ascend to the top). The Path ahead leads us on a cart track, from which a marked path, but without trail blazes branches off to the right towards the hamlet Vrtače, and we continue slightly left and in few minutes we descend to an asphalt road which we follow to the right, and we walk there to abandoned mountain hut Dom na Zgornji Slivni.
From the hut, we can in a minute of additional walking ascend also to the near church of St. Neža, from which a nice view opens up on Posavsko hribovje.
