From Gorenjska highway (exit Lesce), Železniki or Soriška planina, we drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, and then we continue driving in the direction of Lake Bohinj. In Ribčev Laz, just before the lake we turn right towards Stara Fužina, where we at first drive over a bridge with a nice view towards Lake Bohinj and past the church of St. John the Baptist. When we get to Stara Fužina at the crossroad at the chapel, we turn sharply left on an ascending road in the direction of the mountain pasture Blato, mountain pasture Vogar and valley Voje. The road ahead brings us to the spot, where the road toll or parking fee has to be paid, we follow it forward to the next crossroad, where we continue left (right Voje). Then we follow the road to the next crossroad (we drive for quite some time), where we turn sharply right in the direction of the mountain pasture Blato (straight mountain pasture Vogar). We follow this road to a marked parking lot above the mountain pasture Blato.
Path description:
From the marked parking lot on the road we return a little back, and then we go on an ascending cart track in the direction of the mountain pasture Planina pri Jezeru, mountain pasture Planina v Lazu and mountain pasture Dedno polje. The path on a cart track at first quite steeply ascends and after approximately 10 minutes brings us to a marked crossing, where we continue on the left upper cart track (straight mountain pasture Planina v Lazu and steep path to the mountain pasture Planina pri Jezeru).
After less than 5 minutes of additional ascent, at the right turn from the left joins the path from the mountain pasture Vogar, and we continue right in the direction of Planina pri Jezeru. Further, we are ascending on a little less steep cart track which for a short time entirely flattens, and then it ascends steeper and leads us through a narrow carved passage. After the passage, the cart track again flattens, and behind two benches, from the right joins already mentioned steep path. After the crossing, the path turns left and it brings us to a grazing fence, behind which we step into a smaller valley, where a cold air is usually retained. The path ahead gradually becomes steeper again, and after it flattens it turns right. A little further from the left joins the path which leads past the mountain pasture Vodični vrh.
From the mentioned crossing ahead, forest starts to get thinner, when we finally step out of the forest, we are already on the mountain pasture Planina pri Jezeru, where to the nearby mountain hut separates us only few 10 strides of easy walking.
From the mountain hut, we continue left downwards (slightly right mountain pasture Planina v Lazu and mountain hut Vodnikov dom na Velem polju) and we descend to shepherd huts, where there is the next marked crossing.
From the crossing, we continue straight in the direction of the mountain pasture Dedno polje (left upwards mountain pasture Viševnik) and we still continue on a cart track which after the mountain pasture starts ascending steeper. Higher another path towards the mountain pasture Viševnik branches off to the left, namely the path past Krištofojca, and we follow a wide cart track all the way to the mountain pasture Dedno polje, from which a beautiful view opens up on surrounding mountains.
Shepherd hut and cheese cottage we bypass on the left side and we continue straight in the direction of the mountain hut Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (right valley Za Kopico). From the mountain pasture ahead we start moderately ascending, and from the left almost unnoticeably joins the path from the nearby hunting cottage. A little further, the path leads us past another turn-off of the path towards the mountain pasture Viševnik (path by Griva (1758 meters)), and in the next few minutes we get by the upper edge of ample mountain pasture Ovčarija, from where a nice view opens up on Bohinj - Tolmin mountains. From here follows a short descent, after that from the left joins the path from the mountain pasture Vogar, which leads through mountain pasture Viševnik, and few steps ahead, the path splits into two parts.
Here we continue slightly left in the direction of Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (path via Prodi) on the path which after few additional minutes brings us to a nice vantage point (a view towards Bohinj - Tolmin mountains). Here the path turns sharply right and in a moderate descends crosses steep grassy slopes. Further, the path goes into the forest and for a short time starts ascending steeper. The steepness then decreases and the path from a dense forest brings us to a crossing, where from the left joins the path from the lake Črno jezero. We continue straight on the path which is slightly ascending and after few minutes brings us to the spot, where in front of us, we notice lake Dvojno jezero. The path ahead slightly descends to the lake and then continues on the right side of the lake. Here we come to a crossing, where the path branches off to the right upwards on Tičarica, or joins the path via Štapce. We continue on the bottom path, which after few minutes of additional walking brings us to the mountain hut Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih, which we see in front of us.
From the mountain hut, we continue in the direction of Prehodavci and Hribarice and we continue past the artificial lake Močivec. Already immediately behind the lake path starts moderately ascending on a less and less vegetated valley. Pleasant and a panoramic path then leads us through the valley of Dolina Triglavskih jezer, and it quickly brings us to a marked crossing, where the path on Veliko or Lepo Špičje branches off to the left.
We continue in the direction of Prehodavci and we continue on a relatively gently sloping path, which at first crosses a lane of thin larch forest and then we continue on a pleasant small valley. The path ahead moderately ascends and brings us on a smaller saddle, from which a nice view opens up on lake Jezero v Ledvicah.
If we want to the lake, we get there in few minutes descend on a poorly beaten, but technically undemanding footpath.
