First, we drive to Kamnik, and then we continue driving in the direction of the mountain pass Črnivec. Only few 100 meters before the mentioned mountain pass we notice signs for Kranjski Rak, which point us sharply left on a narrow and at first also quite steep road. The road higher flattens and then brings us to the mountain pass Volovjek (Kranjski Rak), where we continue left in the direction of Velika planina. Here the road loses an asphalt covering, and we follow it to a well-marked crossing, where we continue on the left road (direction mountain pasture Kisovec). The road ahead is for some time ascending, and then it flattens and brings us out of the forest on the mountain pasture Kisovec. In the middle of the descent marked footpath branches off to the right, which leads on Velika planina, we follow the road a little further to marked and well-settled parking lot.
From Gornji Grad we drive towards Kamnik, after that only few 100 meters after the mountain pass Črnivec we continue right in the direction of Kranjski Rak. Further, follow the upper description.
From the valley Savinjska dolina at first we drive to Luče, and then we continue driving towards Kamnik. When we come on the mountain pass Volovjek we continue right in the direction of Velika planina. Further, follow the upper description.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we return on the road a little back, and then signs for Velika planina point us on a gentle and wide footpath, on which in few 10 strides we get to Alpine dairy farm Jule. Mentioned Alpine dairy farm we bypass on the left side and we continue on a gently sloping footpath which in few minutes brings us into the forest, where at first it crosses a grazing fence, and then it joins the path from the valley. We follow the marked path to the right, which gradually starts ascending steeper and steeper. After a good half an hour of relatively steep ascent, the path flattens and brings us on the bottom edge of grazing areas of the mountain pasture Mala planina. Slightly ascending path then leads us past some shepherd huts, and then it brings us to the marked crossing, where we continue slightly left in the direction of the mountain hut Črnuški dom. The path ahead a little steeper ascends, then quickly brings us to the already mentioned mountain hut.
