Podgozd - Sveti Peter

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Žužemberk, and then we continue driving towards Dvor and Soteska. When we get to Dvor, we continue right in the direction of Kočevje. After the crossing of river Krka the road steeply ascends and it brings us to the settlement Jama, where we continue left in the direction of Podgozd. When we get to Podgozd, at the crossroads we follow the road, by which there are blazes or signs for Sveti Peter. We park a little after the "last" house, on an appropriate place by the wooden hiking sign for Sveti Peter.
B) From Novo mesto or Bela krajina we drive to Soteska, and from there we continue driving towards Žužemberk. When we get to the settlement Dvor, we continue left in the direction of Kočevje. After the crossing of river Krka the road steeply ascends and it brings us to the settlement Jama, where we continue left in the direction of Podgozd. When we get to Podgozd, at the crossroads we follow the road, by which there are blazes or signs for Sveti Peter. We park a little after the "last" house, on an appropriate place by the wooden hiking sign for Sveti Peter.
C) First, we drive to Kočevje, and then we continue driving in the direction of Novo mesto and Žužemberk. After the settlement Lašče the road starts descending steeper towards the valley of river Krka, and we don't descend on the road entirely into a valley, because in the settlement Jama we continue right towards Podgozd. When we get to Podgozd, at the crossroads we follow the road, by which there are blazes or signs for Sveti Peter. We park a little after the "last" house, on an appropriate place by the wooden hiking sign for Sveti Peter.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on a marked path in the direction of Sveti Peter, where the path at first leads on a wide cart track, from which we soon go left, on the path which continues by the forest. The path, from which at first a view opens up a little on the other side of the river Krka, where we clearly see Plešivico, quickly passes into the forest, where there is the first station of Way of the Cross (to the top there are 14 crosses).
Further, we are ascending on a footpath which leads through the forest, and higher we join the cart track. During the ascent on a cart track, at the crossings we carefully follow the blazes, and higher we also cross a macadam road. We are for some time moderately ascending, and then we reach a wider cart track, on which to the next road leads a marked path, by which there are all the time occasional Stations of the Cross. We continue for some time on an ascending road which we soon leave because blazes lead left on the path which after few minutes brings us to the next road. When we step on the mentioned road, we make few steps towards the left and then at the 9th station we continue right, again on a footpath, or a cart track. Few minutes higher we for the last time cross a macadam road, and the path is then at first moderately, and then steeply ascending. Higher, on the right side from the path appears a mesh fence, along which we then on a steep path ascend to Sveti Peter, on which there is a lookout tower, and a little to the right also a pleasant cottage, which is usually open on Sundays.
