Podmeja - Mrzlica

Access to starting point:
From the valley Savinjska dolina: On highway Ljubljana - Maribor to exit Šempeter, where we go towards Prebold and through the town we continue driving towards Trbovlje. On the mountain pass Podmeja there is enough parking lots, where we can leave the car. From Zasavje: Through Trbovlje we follow signposts for Prebold and we leave the car on Podmeja.

Path description:
From the mountain pass Podmeja we have two options: first is "official" path which leads past the hunting cottage on a marked path on the ridge and then on the ridge towards Smrekovina (which is boring and brings unnecessary ascents and descents), or we can descend few meters by the road and we go on the road on Mrzlica. Both paths after approximately 10-15 minutes join again and we continue on the road. When we come to the beginning of an asphalt we can continue on the road (quite a steep ascent through the forest), or we can turn to the right through the forest and we follow a well-beaten footpath which after few minutes brings us again to the road. Now we continue on the road which is at first quite steeply ascending, but soon flattens and we continue below the ridge. We soon in front of us notice the peak of Mrzlica with antennas and the path again splits: right goes straight to the summit (very steep footpath), left on the road towards the mountain hut. If we want to go on the summit we go right and we continue to the top. From here we can then descend few meters to the mountain hut.
