Podvin pri Polzeli - Gora Oljka (upper path)

Access to starting point:
We leave Štajerska highway at exit Šempeter, and then we follow the signs for Polzela. Through Polzela we follow the main road, after that at pizzeria and inn AS caffe we continue right on street Pot na Vimperk 3-16. We continue past individual houses, and then asphalt road starts considerably ascending. At the farm Cizej-Sevšek we get to the settlement Podvin pri Polzeli, where at the crossroad we go right, and also a little further we get to the parking lot where we park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue slightly left on a macadam road which leads us past a cross and by which we notice signs for Vimperk. The road quickly passes into the forest and in few minutes of a diagonal ascent brings us on a small saddle, where "upper" path on Gora Oljka branches off to the right.
We continue right in the direction of Gora Oljka (further on the road Vinski vrh or Vimperk) and we continue walking on a marked footpath. A little further follows a light descent, where the forest for some time ends, and by the path, we notice Stations of the Cross, which are then accompanying us on the path ahead. Next follows a relatively short ascent towards Vimperk (442 meters), then on a cart track we reach an asphalt road which we follow to the right. On the asphalt road, we ascend to "last" house, which we bypass on the left side, and then past old millstone we pass on diagonal path, which is gradually turning to the left. Next follows some more crossing, and then from the right joins the path which leads past the birth house of writer, poet, journalist... Neža Maurer.
We continue straight, at first with nice views, after that by older house we reach the macadam road which passes into the forest, and there we continue to a marked crossroad, where we reach the road which leads towards Gora Oljka.
We continue on the road in the direction of Gora Oljka (left we descend on the road into a valley, and right road continues through the settlement Dobrič), on which we quickly get to plague column and inscription box. Here the road branches off to the right towards marked parking lot and Tourist agency Nasmeh, and we go straight and we continue walking on an asphalt road. Higher, the road leads us by nice views and at the former inn Jug, from the left joins the path from Podgora.
We continue on the road few 10 meters more, and then signs for Gora Oljka point us to the left on a cart track which passes into the forest. We continue through the forest, at first on a cart track, after that on a little steeper marked path, which higher few more times crosses the cart track or occasionally continues on it. Higher, after the gentle part, from the right joins another path, which from the road branches off higher, and we continue left and in few minutes of a moderate ascent we get to the mountain hut on Gora Oljka, and after the ascent on stairs also to the church of the Holy Cross.
