Famous beach Poetto is located 5 kilometers east from the center of the capital city of Sardinia, Cagliari and it is the easiest accessible by public transport.
Path description:
From beach Poetto we walk on streets Viale del Poetto, we turn left on Via Vergine di Lluc past square Piazza San Bartolomeo right on street Viale San Bartolomeo and left on Viale Sant'Elia (in doing so from the north side we circle hill on the south). Soon we are again near the sea, to which we get very close to (there aren't any ascents for now), until further leads only macadam road which starts ascending. We leave the road at the information boards, from which the footpath turns into a slope towards the lighthouse and fortress. We follow the footpath to a ridge between the lighthouse and fortress. On the ridge with a wonderful view we turn towards the fortress, which we reach after 10 minutes of walking.
From the fortress we return on the path which leads towards the lighthouse and after few minutes of walking on the left side of the ridge path branches off. On this path we descend to lower situated road, on which we continue a descent to a crossroad with street Calamosca. At the crossroad, we continue right. We follow the road straight to its end, where starts marked footpath on Sella del Diavolo. The path at first steeply ascends and then splits into two branches, from which we choose the left (right goes path on a vantage point). The path further reaches more panoramic points on beach Poetto. Towards the end of the path at first we come to the hut, and then also to archaeological site, after which the path then ends.
