Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce, where at the roundabout, we go on the old road in the direction of Žirovnica and Jesenice. After few km of driving, we drive past a crossroad, where the road branches off to the right in Žirovnica. When we drive past the viaduct Završnik, we notice on the right side a turn off, on which we go (we turn sharply right). Immediately we run into a smaller crossroad, where we go left, and at the next (after approx 50 meters) right, in the direction of Završnik. After a short descent, the road for some time ascends a little, after that flattens, and it brings us to the spot, where the macadam branches off to the left towards the mountain hut Valvasorjev dom. Here, we park somewhere nearby.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on a macadam road which leads to the left towards the mountain hut Valvasorjev dom, and we follow it about half an hour. When we come to a bigger, sharp (V) left turn, or hairpin turn, on the right side of the road, we notice rocks, and with rocks walled edge of the road. Here, in the middle of the mentioned turn, we leave the road, and on the right we look for a forest footpath which leads in the direction of southeast. After 5 minutes of gentle crossing of the steep southwestern slope of Gozdašnica, the path ascends a little, and at the same time in the rocks above us we notice two entrances into the cave named cave Turška jama. We enter into the cave through one of the entrances (for viewing we need a lamp). After viewing the cave, we can ascend few more additional meters on a footpath, to a smaller ridge, from where a view opens up a little on villages on the other side of the ridge of Brezniške Peči, and on the valley below us.
