Povlje - Velika Poljana (by cart track)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Brnik, when we reach the road Mengeš - Kranj, we continue left towards Kranj. On the main road towards Kranj we drive to first roundabout, from where we continue on first exit right in the direction of Šenčur. Through Šenčur we continue on the main road, after we reach the road Kranj - Zgornje Jezersko, we continue right in the direction of Jezersko. When we get to Preddvor we leave the main road and we continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement, from there we follow the signs for settlement Bašelj. A little after the settlement Bašelj the road descends to a stream Milka and over a bridge also crosses it. Here at first road in the village Babni Vrt branches off to the right, and good 100 meters ahead also in the village Povlje. We continue on an ascending road towards Povlje, and we park on a smaller parking lot above the village. At the starting point, there is a smaller crossroad, more mountain signposts and larger information board of learning path Trstenik "Pot pod Storžičem".
B) From highway Jesenice - Ljubljana we go to the exit Kranj west, and then we continue driving towards Golnik. When we get to Tenetiše we leave the main road towards Golnik and we continue driving right in the direction of Trstenik. Approximately 1km after the settlement Trstenik we get to a smaller crossroad, where we continue left in the direction of village Povlje. We continue on an ascending road towards Povlje, and we park on a smaller parking lot above the village. At the starting point, there is a smaller crossroad, more mountain signposts and larger information board of learning path Trstenik "Pot pod Storžičem".

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the asphalt road which at marked crossing turns right. When after few meters on the left spruce forest ends, we will only few steps further notice the beginning of cart track which starts ascending on at first gentle slope. Cart track, which leads us on a slope, which was in the year 2014 damaged by strong sleet, has higher few smaller crossings, and on all of them we continue straight or slightly right. Higher, we reach a marked path Povlje - Planina Javornik, and we walk there only a short time because then at the first crossing of cart tracks we continue right (even if we continue straight higher on a marked path we return on a cart track). Cart track then turns left and it ascends steeper, through at first panoramic slopes, from which a nice view opens up on Tolsti vrh. A little further, at the spot where a view towards Storžič opens up, cart track turns even more to the left and is then ascending diagonally. During the crossing we cross a marked path Povlje - Planina Javornik, and we continue straight in the direction of Velika Poljana.
Further, we are then for some time ascending diagonally, and then at first from the left joins the path Dolenčeva pot from the village Povlje, about a minute or two ahead, on the right turn also the path from Goriče, Zalog and also another path from Povlje.
We continue on a cart track which short time runs on an indistinct ridge, where leads us past "second snack bar". A little further from the cart track marked path branches off, and on a well visible cart track we few more minutes walk through the forest and then when we cross a grazing fence, for few minutes on a little more panoramic grassy slope of Velika Poljana. When we step out of the forest in front of us we already notice cottage on Velika Poljana, to which we have only few minutes of ascent.
