Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Celje we go to the exit Šentrupert (from Ljubljana) or Šempeter (from Celje) and we continue driving in the direction of Prebold and Trbovlje. In Prebold, near the church, we turn right on the road Graščinska cesta, at the end of which we continue right on the road Tovarniška cesta. And in a gentle descent, it quickly brings us to the next crossroad, where we continue straight (here on a tree we already notice signposts for Reška planina). Further, we drive past the house with an orange facade, after which follow decaying buildings. When we come to the spot, where left upwards a marked path branches off, we park on one of the smaller parking lots by the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on the path in the direction of the mountain hut Dom pod Reško planino. The path at first runs past a larger pond, and then few times crosses a road. When crossing of the roads ends, a well-marked path leads us through a panoramic meadow, from which a nice view opens up towards the valley. The path then goes into the forest, where it ascends on a cart track which soon brings us to the crossing, where we continue right. Next follows a gentle ascent on a cart track which after a half an hour of walking, it brings us to a smaller hamlet, where there are some farms. Here among the houses the path descends and after few steps of descent brings us to a crossroad, where we continue right. Next follows few minutes of a light ascent on an asphalt road to a smaller saddle, where we notice signposts. Here we continue straight on the road which is slightly descending. After few minutes of descent, the footpath branches off right upwards, which quickly changes into a cart track. This path, which is at first slightly descending, and then slightly ascending we follow all the way to the mountain hut below Reška planina.
From the hut, we continue on a marked path, which after a short ascent brings us to the church of St. Mary. We continue ahead, on the left side of the church and after few steps, we notice a marked footpath which branches off from the road (straight, direction viewpoint). Further, we are moderately ascending on a cart track which after 15 minutes ends. Marked, but poorly made path, then steeply ascends. A steep path is in wet and snow dangerous for slipping. After a good 20 minutes of a steep ascent, the steepness decreases and the path brings us on a ridge, where we continue right. After additional few steps, we get to the vantage point, which is also the destination of our tour.
