Access to starting point:
A) From Bled or Jesenice se we drive on Zatrnik, and then we continue driving towards Pokljuka. When we get to Pokljuka we all the time stick to the main road, and we are driving there to a large settled parking lot on Rudno polje.
B) From Železniki or Podbrdo we drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, and then we continue driving in the direction of Bled. Soon after Petrol gas station, which is located only a little after Bohinjska Bistrica, we continue driving left in the direction of Pokljuka and Jereka. Further, the road at first steeply ascends, and after Korita gradually flattens and it brings us to a crossroad by bus stop, where we continue right in the direction of Pokljuka, Koprivnik and Jereka (straight Srednja vas). Immediately after the crossroad, we get to Jereka, and from the crossroad in front of the church we continue straight towards Pokljuka (left Podjelje). After Jereka the road again starts ascending steeper, and higher flattens and continues by stream Mrzli potok, where the road in Koprivnik v Bohinju branches off to the left, and we continue straight towards Pokljuka and Gorjuše. After Gorjuše road passes into the forest, and we are driving there to a crossroad, where we join the road from Bled. Here we continue left and then on the main road, we drive to a large parking lot on Rudno polje.
Path description:
From the parking lot at first we carefully cross the road, and then we continue on a macadam road in the direction of Triglav, Viševnik and mountain hut Blejska koča na Lipanci. On a quite gentle road we walk approximately 10 minutes, and then we get to a ski slope Viševnik, where we leave the road and we continue right in the direction of Viševnik and Srenjski preval (further on the road Triglav, Vodnikov dom and Studorski preval). The path ahead leads us left from the ski slope, on a footpath which runs through periphery of forest. After a short ascent, we return on a macadam road which we reach at the spot, where the marked path towards Viševnik continues straight upwards, and we follow the road to the right, so that we cross a ski slope. The road quickly leads in the forest and at the crossroad, where we continue on the bottom right road, and at the next crossroad once again right, both times in the direction of Lipanca. After second the crossroad we get to sandpit Rudno polje, and only a little further after a short descent, signs for mountain pasture Lipanca and mountain hut Blejska koča point us to the left in the forest. Through the forest at some crossings we follow the blazes, after that a little higher we cross a macadam road. After crossing the road, the path becomes a little steeper and is mainly ascending diagonally towards the right. Higher, the forest starts to get thinner, and on the left we notice watering place for animals (often without water). From here follows few minutes of ascent, and then we get to a crossing, where we continue right downwards (left Viševnik and Mrežce) and in a minute or two of additional walking, we descend to the mountain hut Blejska koča na Lipanci.
From the mountain hut Blejska koča we continue right, also for few steps descend, and then we continue in the direction of Debela peč. A gentle ascent follows over panoramic part of the mountain pasture Lipanca, and then by the edge of the forest path splits. We continue left on a marked path (right hunting cottage on the mountain pasture Brda), which crosses slopes towards the left and then after a shorter ascent splits.
We continue on better visible right path (slightly left Lipanski vrh and Krma), which is for few minutes still ascending gently, and then turns right and it ascends diagonally through short steep part. When the path brings us above steep part we are already at the next crossing, from which we continue left on less distinct footpath in the direction of Brda and Krma (straight Debela peč and east path on Brda). Further, we are at first moderately ascending through a lane of dwarf pines, higher when the path becomes a little steeper, we ascend diagonally through a grassy slope. When the path returns in dwarf pines, at the crossing we continue right in the direction of the peak Brda (straight Krma), few steps ahead, also slightly left in the direction of Brda (straight Debela peč). Next follows few minutes of panoramic ascent and the path brings us to the summit.
