Sele Šajda / Zell Schaida - Koschutahaus

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Ljubelj (Tržič), and then we continue driving in the direction of Celovec / Klagenfurt. After Ljubelj tunnel the road starts descending, and we follow it to the crossroad, where slightly right and downwards road towards the settlement Borovlje / Ferlach branches off.
The road which is still descending quickly brings us to the mentioned settlement, where we soon cross the railway track. Only a little after the track we join the other road which we follow to the right, and we are driving there in the direction of the settlement Sele pri Cerkvi / Zell - Pfarre.
When we will drive past a bigger Spar store, we are already near the destination. When we will in the village on the right side notice a small village store on the top of the hill, we slow down, because at the end of this small hill we will turn firmly right. We follow the signs for sport park and farm OLIP - KALIŠNIK. After the sport park the path will split right, and we go left on a narrower asphalt road which will bring us in front the homestead.

Path description:
From the farm Kališnik we continue on a forest path behind the wooden business building, where the farm machinery are parked. Forest path brings us about three hundred meters to a crossroad, where we turn right, on a hill downwards. Already after few minutes of walking, we come to a crossroad, where from the right side joins the marked path, which comes from the saddle Šajda, and we continue left, where the path leads us through idyllic valley of river Borovnica, where there are preserved real mountain farms such as Košil, Pipan and Košutnik. The path soon brings us into the forest, we follow the blazes and signs, which after good two hours of moderate walking it brings us to the mountain pasture Kobovnikova planina. Here we get to a grazing fence where we enjoy in nice views. At the grazing fence we turn left, where the path narrows into a footpath and it is marked with red dots. Further, the path runs on a very steep slope, where it is dangerous for slipping, but already after a little less than half an hour of walking, we get to the mountain pasture Grosova planina where a well is pleasantly trickling. On this mountain pasture there is also a shepherd hut (closed) nearby is also a cross with a bench, where we can take a rest and quench a thirst by the well. The path again leads on the mountain pasture downwards and we soon come to a crossing, where the marked path leads from the mountain hut Koča pod Košuto on Košutnikov turn, Cjajnik, Ridovec, Hajnževo sedlo and Ljubelj. Only about ten more minutes of walking downwards is in front of us and already the parking lot and mountain hut Koča pod Košuto show up, where they have a very good service and they also speak Slovenian. We return on the same path. The second option is on a driving road into a valley, where in less than an hour we come into the village Sele pri Cerkvi / Zell Pfare, from where there is to the car about an hour of walking. I recommend the hike, it is very interesting.
