Širje - Dom v Gorah

Access to starting point:
From Sevnica or Celje we drive to Zidani Most, where we go towards Hrastnik. At the end of the village Zidani Most signs for the church of Marija Širje point us to the right upward on a narrow asphalt road which is steeply ascending. When the steepness of the road decreases we will on the right side of it notice a parking lot by the road, where we park.
From Hrastnik we drive towards Zidani Most. Soon behind the village Suhadol road towards the church Marija Širje branches off sharply to the left. Further, we follow the description above.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road which over wide meadow in five minutes brings us to the church in the village. Only few steps ahead from the church blazes point us to the left on the path which goes among houses. Behind the houses, we pass on a cart track which after few minutes brings us to a macadam road. This road which is moderately ascending and is getting worse, we follow to the spot, where it comes out of the forest. Here we continue right upwards on a cart track which leads us past double hayrack (toplar) and behind it brings us to the crossing. Further, we continue on a marked path in the direction of Gore. The path ahead again runs through the forest, where it is ascending diagonally. Eventually, the path turns right and soon after that passes out of the forest on grassy slopes, where also steepness decreases. Next follows a short walk through a meadow after which we come to a crossing.
Here we continue left in the direction of the mountain hut Dom na Gorah (Gore) on a cart track which in few minutes brings us to a smaller hamlet. The path then past houses brings us to an asphalt road, where we continue left. Further, for some time we walk on the road which is slightly descending. Walking on the road is on some parts shortened by shortcuts on which also runs marked path. After few minutes, the path again starts ascending and on the road brings us to the mountain hut Dom v Gorah. From the mountain hut, we can continue two more minutes to the church of St. Jurij, which is situated on a smaller hill near the mountain hut.
