Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Idrija and then we continue driving in the direction of Vojsko. After approximately 14 km of driving from Idrija, on at first quite ascending road we get to the center of the village, from there we continue driving left towards Mrzla Rupa, Hudo Polje and Lokve. The road soon starts considerably descending and descends for approximately 200 altitude meters and then it flattens and it brings us to Mrzle Rupe (to here we can come also from Gorenja Trebuša). We continue driving in the direction of Hudo Polje and village Lokve on the road which again starts moderately ascending. Higher, we get to Hudo Polje, and we continue driving on an asphalt road which past Sončni rob brings us to a crossroad of multiple roads, where the asphalt ends. Here we park on an appropriate place near the mentioned crossroad.
Path description:
From the crossroad, we continue on the macadam road past the gate following the signs »Golaki«. At the first left turn we leave the road and blazes point us to the right on a footpath.
Further relatively narrow and on some spots also slightly overgrown path leads through the forest. At the beginning, the path is quite gentle and on short sections it even slightly descends. Later we start a little steeper ascending and also the path becomes less overgrown, only occasionally we still have to cross some fallen tree. The path then for quite some time leads through the forest and in the last part it brings us on the main ridge of Golaki. Here the path turns right and it is slightly ascending by the ridge through the forest. Higher, the path brings us out of the forest into dwarf pines and bushes. Here beautiful views start to open up on surrounding hills. In nice weather we can very nicely see the sea, Julian Alps and even Dolomites.
After a short ascent through dwarf pines we then soon reach an indistinct peak of Srednji Golak.
