In Tacen, just before the road over the bridge crosses the Sava River, continue slightly right towards Pirniče. Shortly after Ljubljana ends, arrive at the Kovač inn in Vikrče, and a few meters further to the junction where the road to Medvode and the center of the settlement Spodnje Pirniče branches off to the left. Here continue straight and after a few tens of meters of further driving arrive at a smaller junction where a narrower asphalt road branches off to the right towards house nos. Path description:
From the starting point we continue along the mentioned street, then behind the last house on the right side turn right onto the road, which a few meters ahead loses the asphalt surface and brings us to an unmarked junction at the water tank.
We bypass the water tank on the right side (left educational trail) and the path continues briefly along the overgrown cart track. From the cart track a trail soon branches off to the left, which we follow, and it joins the marked path from Vikrč a few steps higher. Higher the path flattens and turns slightly to the left and then back right, where it gradually transitions into a smaller erosion gully. A short somewhat steeper ascent follows, then we step onto a cart track where we continue left (right Grmada - path which joins Westrova pot).
A short traverse follows and the path brings us to a poorer road which leads towards the Sedlo under the summit of Šmarna gora. Higher the road brings us out of the forest onto panoramic slopes. With a view of the summit of Šmarna gora and Kamniška Savinjska Alpe we quickly arrive at the Gorjanc homestead, from which a short walk follows to the marked junction Na Sedlu.
From the saddle we continue right downhill in the direction of Tacen (left Šmarna gora), when the path enters the forest we continue right in the direction of Grmada. We continue the ascent along a somewhat steeper path which first ascends through the forest and then transitions to a partly panoramic ridge along which in a few tens of steps of further walking we ascend to the summit of Grmada.
On the way: Na Sedlu (580m)
