Sveti Jurij - Kačova mlaka

Access to starting point:
We drive to Gederovci (to here from Radenci or Murska Sobota) and we continue driving in the direction of Kuzma. When we get to the settlement Sveti Jurij, only a little behind the church we turn right and we park on a parking lot near the church of St. Jurij and primary school Sveti Jurij.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue towards the north and we walk parallel with the main road, and after the police office, we go right and on a marked road we descend to the sports field, and on the other side of the field, we get to a marked crossing.
At the crossing, the path branches off to the left, which leads towards the mountain hut Planinska koča rak, and we continue straight and we ascend a little on a macadam road. The road quickly turns right, and at the turn we go straight and we continue on ascending marked path, which after few minutes brings us to an asphalt road. On the road, we are at first gently and then a little steeper ascending. Soon after we leave municipality Rogašovci, the road flattens and it brings us out of the forest to an unmarked crossroad.
Slightly left is located a cemetery on Somovski Breg. And we choose the slightly right road and we start moderately descending. We continue with nice views on landscape of Goričko, and the road further leads past individual houses, and at the crossroads, we continue on the main path or we follow the blazes, which are not very frequent. The descent ends on the flat part, where from a marked crossing we continue straight towards Grad (left - Planinska koča Rak).
Only a little further, we over the bridge cross the stream Lukaj, and from the crossroad, where we reach a wider road, we go left. The path ahead leads us past the bus stop, and a wider road already after few 10 strides we leave and we continue right in the direction of Pomurje mountain trail (Pomurska planinska pot). Further, we are again ascending on the asphalt road, from which beautiful views opening up on surroundings, and higher when we look back also towards Stradner Kogel in Austria.
When the road flattens, we get to a smaller hamlet, where the asphalt ends, and the road turns right into the forest. A little further, blazes point us slightly to the right on a footpath which continues on a gentle cart track, and at the crossings we follow the blazes. We for some time continue without large changes in altitude, and after the crossing with several cart tracks, we gradually start descending. Lower, we are descending on a forest mountain path, and when we leave the forest we get to pond Kačova mlaka.
