Terme Topolšica - Lomek (Lom) (hunting path)

Access to starting point:
A) From the direction of Maribor we drive on the highway to exit Arja vas, where we continue right in the direction of Velenje or Slovenj Gradec. We drive through Velika Pirešica, Črnova and Vinska Gora to Velenje, where we continue straight past the factory Gorenje in the direction of Šoštanj. A little after Velenje at the roundabout, we turn in the direction of Šoštanj, at thermoelectric plant we turn on the bridge and drive through the center of Šoštanj. A little after primary school Karl Destovnik - Kajuh we turn left in the direction of Topolšica. After approximately 4 km we get to Topolšica or to spa Terme Topolšica on the left where we can park on a large parking lot of the hotel Vesna.
B) From the direction Ljubljana we drive on the highway to exit Šentrupert, where we already see signs for Topolšica. Then we drive through Preserje, Male Braslovče and Letuš towards Šmartno ob Paki. From here we continue to the village Gorenje, where we turn right on the main road towards Velenje. A little before Velenje at the roundabout, we turn in the direction of Šoštanj, at thermoelectric plant we turn on the bridge and drive through the center of Šoštanj. A little after primary school Karl Destovnik - Kajuh we turn left in the direction of Topolšica. After approximately 4 km we get to Topolšica or to spa Terme Topolšica on the left where we can park on a large parking lot of the hotel Vesna.

Path description:
From the parking lot of spa Terme Topolšica we walk through spa park in which there is memorial room of signing the German capitulation. The marked path starts above the road at stairs, which lead uphill. We soon come on a parking lot of hospital Topolšica, where a sign points us on a steep path in the forest above the hospital. After 15 minutes we get to an asphalt road on which we continue uphill (right in the direction of sunny path or path over Lom), even though the trail blaze pointing in the opposite direction. After we walked a longer steepness we get to the vantage point from which a breathtaking view opens up on the valley Šaleška dolina with Velenje, Šoštanj and surrounding hills, and of course Topolšica with spa. Next follows another small ascent and the road flattens a little or starts descending. At the house, where the road starts descending marked hunting path branches off, which quickly passes into steep forest. The path is all the time steep and rocky, in some parts covered with leaves, its steepness decreases only after 20 minutes of walking, when we reach the ridge of Lom. We soon join the marked path (on the road), which brings us on the ridge. The road leads us through mixed forest on the ridge of Lom to abandoned farm Dražnik. From here we continue on the road to the farm Vodovnik and then to the farm Ravs. A little further, we get to the end of the road by which there is a holiday cottage. Here we turn right in the forest and after few meters we reach the sign which marks the summit of Lom (Lomek).
