Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Žalec, and then we continue driving in the direction Velenje. In the main roundabout (2nd roundabout) in Velenje, below the ski jumping hill, we continue straight (2nd exit) in the direction of Šoštanj - Mozirje. Then at the traffic light crossroad we turn left and then immediately right on a parking lot, where parking is free.
B) From Koroška at first we drive in Slovenj Gradec, and then we continue driving towards Velenje. In the main roundabout (1st roundabout) in Velenje, below the ski jumping hill, we continue right (1st exit) in the direction of Šoštanj - Mozirje. Then at the traffic light crossroad we turn left and then immediately right on a parking lot, where parking is free.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go back in the direction towards roundabout below the ski jumping hill on parallel street through Stari trg. The path brings us to the signpost at villa Bianca with the description local community Staro Velenje. Right from villa Bianca starts path on stairs upwards. The path has officially 233 stairs. It's lit up at night. At viewpoints benches are inviting to rest, and Muzej Velenje by the path prepared an exhibition, with which describe history of the town Velenje and valley Šaleška dolina. The path offers a view on Velenje, ski jumping hill and surrounding hills.
