Vrhnika - Koča na Planini nad Vrhniko (via bukev)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Koper we go to the exit Vrhnika, and then we continue driving on the old road towards Logatec. At the last traffic light in Vrhnika, we recognize it by the nearby bank and pharmacy, we turn right in the direction of Planina. At all next crossroads, we continue driving straight, and we follow the road to the parking lot near the signposts for the cottage Zavetišče na Planini nad Vrhniko.

Path description:
At the starting point, we notice signposts for Planina, which point us on an ascending footpath. Already after a short ascent, at first through bushes, and then through the edge of a meadow, we step on a macadam road which we follow to the left, and we walk there to the Petkov Storž (a log cabin with self-service drinks). Only few meters ahead signs for Planina and Zaplana point us to the left on a wide footpath which from the road turns right into a dense lane of bushes. Further, we are ascending on a relatively gently sloping path, which ahead runs through a deep shade. Higher, we step on a wide cart track which gradually narrows and higher brings us to a marked crossing, by which there is a bench Županova klop.
We continue the ascent on the left path in the direction of "Planina - Bukev" (right Planina via Špica). The path ahead is relatively gently ascending through a dense forest and then past a cross brings us on a little steeper slope, where we get help from a wooden fence and a steel cable (the passage is entirely undemanding, some caution is needed only when it is icy). The path ahead for some time flattens and it brings us to the spot, where from the left joins the path from Blatni dol.
We continue right and a little steeper path we follow all the way to the cottage Zavetišče na Planini nad Vrhniko, and we reach it after good 10 minutes of additional walking.
