Weißenbach - Dachsteinblick

Access to starting point:
Through the Karawanks Tunnel, we drive to Austria and ahead on Tauern highway past Salzburg. We leave the highway at exit for Mondsee, which we bypass on the eastern coast. We continue in the direction of Attersee, where we immediately turn right and we follow the road on the south and then eastern coast of the lake to town Weißenbach am Attersee. We park on one of settled parking lots by the main road or road which branches off towards Bad Ischl.

Path description:
In Weißenbach there are several very well-marked beginnings of the path on Dachsteinblick - we look for the nearest and go on the path. Paths join at the chapel of St. Nicholas, where ascent starts. The path ascending in zig-zags through the forest, right before we leave the forest path for a short time flattens. Then it continues ascending in zig-zags, on part of the path, we get help from steel cables. Signpost on a saddle points us right back in the forest. We are ascending in zig-zags to the next signpost right below Mahdlgupf, where we continue right again. We continue with the ascent through the forest. Next follows a steep ascent on a gravel slope on a ridge, then only a light ascent to Dachsteinblick.
The entire path is very well marked.
