Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Mozirje, where at the roundabout, we go in the direction of "Golte". After 4 km of driving, we get to the village Žekovec and to the bottom station of a cableway Golte and there we park.
Path description:
The path starts there, where one-way road turns left downwards. We can start also on the left path over Zagradiška puša, because both paths after approx 20 minutes join. We go right among houses on the upper asphalt road which quickly ends and the path turns left upwards into the forest. A little higher we come on the forest road on which we continue about 100 meters and there we turn on the path left. Soon the path again comes on the road, where both paths join.
We continue on the middle unmarked steep path upwards. This part of the path is used also by cyclists. A little higher this path again comes on the road and on a marked path. We continue on the road all the way to a cross on the right side of the road. At the cross the path turns left upwards into the forest. A little below the cross there is also a well with a drinking water. A little higher we again twice cross the road, we go past the second cross and we again come on the road. The marked path goes left on a meadow, and we go right on a macadam road to an asphalt road towards Golte. On this road we go approximately 100 meters and then we go right in the forest. This part of the path is also used by cyclists. We soon again cross a macadam road and we continue on a marked path. When we come to the farm we go right. Past the farm we go left by buildings and upwards on a little more grassy road. A little above the farm we again cross the road and we continue on the path right upward. The path through the forest is steadily ascending until we come on the forest road which also ends there. Ahead there are three forest cart tracks. We go on the middle. After about 100 meters we go on the left, whereupon the path is very steadily steeply ascending all the way to the mountain pasture Verbučeva planina. When we come to the fence, on the left side, 20 meters lower before the fence there is a little hidden 20 meters long path to the hunting observatory, from where there is a nice view towards the valley.
Ahead from the fence the steepness decreases. Left below we notice a hunting cottage. For a short time, we go twice through the forest, whereupon on the pasture we notice a hunting observatory. We go left next to it and we continue left or right to a log cabin, which we see straight in front of us at the end of the pasture. This part of the path runs on flat. Before the log cabin, we on the forest road turn left upwards. When this road brings us to a smaller clearing, we turn on the path right. We soon come to a crossing, and from there to the top there is only few minutes.
On the summit, there is a lookout tower, which offers a nice view. Into a valley we can return on the ascent route or we go on the path Severjeva pot, which a little below the clearing turns right in the forest, to the mountain hut Mozirska koča. And there we decide if we will descend on foot or we will drive into a valley with a cable car. Do not go past the vantage point on this path. In the summer season at the mountain hut Mozirska koča we can view an alpinetum.
