Description of mountain:
Hafelekarspitze is a local mountain of Innsbruck and the most popular peak in one of the most admired ridges of the eastern Alps: Nordkette, which forms a characteristic panorama of Innsbruck, the town which is located deep below it. The main reason for the popularity of an otherwise indistinct peak is a cableway, which brings us right from the center of Innsbruck just below the peak; from the upper station of the cableway to the top there is only few minutes of comfortable walking.
The peak is, the same as Nordkette in general, a great vantage point: Innsbruck below us is as clear as day, on the south there are spreading chains of Zillertal, Stubai and part Ötztal Alps, and on the north there proudly stands the rest of the mountain range Karwendel, which forms one the most recognizable parts of Northern Limestone Alps.
