Description of mountain:
Vigla, standing at 1443 meters, is the highest peak in the Mount Kerkis range on the Greek island of Samos.

On the mountain and in its vicinity, there are several interesting points, some are excellent viewpoints, while others are worth visiting:

West from the summit there is an excellent view of the island of Ikaria and the smaller island of Fourni.
Southwest of the summit, remnants of a Shorts 330-200 aircraft are still visible, which crashed into the mountain in cloudy weather on August 3, 1989 (34 victims, no survivors).
Southeast of the summit is the monastery of Profitis Ilias (Greek: Προφήτης Ηλίας στον Κέρκη).
Northeast, along the ridge path downwards, is the second highest peak of Samos, Zastano, at 1206 meters (Greek: Ζάστανο).
At the northeastern foot is the Kakoperato cave (Greek: Σπήλαιο Κακοπέρατο), and on the way to it, there is also a monastery (signs in Greek for "ΙΕΡΑ ΜΟΝΗ").

There are many trees and shrubbery on the mountain slopes, such as East Mediterranean pine, cypresses, various types of oak, and on the higher slopes, low ankle-high thorny shrubs which are melliferous. On these shrubs, as on many higher mountains on the Greek islands, the Carniolan honey bee (Latin: Apis mellifera carnica) can also be observed (many beehives can be seen at the foot of the mountain).
