Krapina / Žutnica - Brezovica

Access to starting point:
A) Over the border crossing Gruškovje / Macelj we drive into Croatia. We leave the highway at exit Đurmanec and we drive in the mentioned village. From the roundabout we continue in the direction of Krapina, and then we drive on the old road through the valley of Krapinica until we get to Doliće, the suburb of Krapina. At the first crossroad, we go left towards Varaždin, we cross a railway track and we park on a parking lot by the railway station Žutnica.
B) To Croatia we can get to also over the border crossing Dobovec / Lupinjak. From here, it is 10 minutes to Đurmanec, and from there we follow the upper description.

Path description:
From the railway station Žutnica we go towards the west, across the railway track to a crossroad, and from the crossroad straight upwards on the stairs. The path ahead leads us upwards over Doliče, where we get to the underpass of a highway. On the other side of the highway we go to the hunting cottage with a green fence, where the asphalt ends.
Here we go left on a wider cart track, and from there right on a steeper narrower cart track which soon flattens and leads us by the forest and meadow. A little further, we will cross the stream and come into a shorter erosion gully of a cart track. Above the erosion part, the path turns right downwards, even it seems, that we should go straight (also on the path straight, we would come to the destination, but on a longer path). Next follows a descent all the way to the next stream, which we cross and we pass into the forest. The forest ends at the hunting observatory, and behind it we continue through an overgrown clearing, where we go left back in the forest. The path ahead leads us on a cart track, and when we reach it, the orientational problems end. Further, we follow the cart track which leads through the forest and by the edge of a meadow, and later we get to an asphalt road Brezovica Petrovska - Petrovsko.
On the asphalt we go sharply right and we follow more frequent blazes (to here we could notice only few old faded blazes), which bring us on a transport road which leads to the top of Brezovica to telecommunication structure. We walk on the road and after twenty minutes of additional walking, we get right below the peak.
Because the structure is fenced, it isn't possible to go on the very peak.
Due to the forest there isn't any view, but if we continue in the direction of Strahinjščica, after few 10 strides we get to the spot, from where a nice view opens up towards the north.
First part of the path is orientationally quite demanding, and the path after the rain is quite muddy.
