From the road Dravograd - Maribor, in Radlje ob Dravi, from the crossroad at store Lidl, we drive in the direction of center of the settlement and mountain pass Radeljski prelaz. After the crossroad, we drive also past the store Hofer and past the turn-off of the road to the left towards Sveti Trije Kralji, and at the next crossroad left towards Austria. Immediately after the crossroad, we go once again left and we park on a larger asphalt parking lot near the mansion Dvorec Radlje.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue towards the east, where we at first carefully cross the main road Radlje ob Dravi - mountain pass Radeljski prelaz, and on the other side of the road the path splits into two parts.
We can continue left on a forest and historical trail Stari grad, or straight on the trim trail. Both paths are well marked and higher in the forest join and then also few times cross each other, and higher run on the same route. Higher, the path turns left and passes on a little steeper slope, where it is fenced with a wooden fence, and when the fence on the left ends it splits.
We continue straight (sharply right continues trim trail, learning path and the path which leads on the old castle) and a little further we join a wide cart track which we follow to the left. When we have returned on a cart track, we again join the learning path and trim trail, and a little further from the right also marked European footpath E6 joins.
Further, we finally leave trim trail and learning path and at the crossings we follow yellow-red blazes. A little further, we reach the macadam road which we follow to the left, and there we are lightly descending. The path on the road leads us past the pasture and homestead Majerhof, and then blazes point us from the road slightly right on a cart track, and from which a little further we go slightly left, on at first parallel marked path, which later gradually goes away from the cart track. Later we for some time join the other cart track, and the path which leads us past numerous streams and which is for most of the time gently to moderately ascending, brings us to a crossing, by which there is a signpost.
Signs point us slightly left on the path which descends to the inn Žohar, where there is a stamp, and we continue slightly right, on a beaten, but for a short time unmarked footpath which above the inn returns on a marked path, and we reach it on a cart track which we follow to the right. Next follows a short ascent on a cart track, and then it splits, and we continue on the left, which brings us out of the forest on a panoramic meadow. On the cart track, we ascend to the road which we reach at the marked crossing by birch tree.
We continue right in the direction towards Kapunar (left mountain pass Radeljski prelaz on the path E6), and from a wide road we soon go left on other road, and from there left on a cart track. The path ahead leads us by the pasture, and when we reach the farm Ternik we continue through the yard (in the time of visiting two unleashed dogs, that are quite loud). After the farm blazes lead on a cart track which ascends by the field, and if we look back a nice view opens up. By the entrance into the forest, we go from a wider cart track right, where at first we don't see any path, but after few steps it appears and passes into the forest. At the crossings through the forest we follow the blazes, and higher we reach the macadam road and we follow it to the right. On the road, we come out of the forest and with nice views, we reach the farm Škarc, where we go past few houses. Behind the houses follows some light descent, and then we join the usual path which leads from Radlje ob Dravi towards Kapunar.
We follow the road straight, and at the next crossroad, we go slightly left towards Kapunar. Next follows a relatively long walk on the macadam road which we follow to the former guardhouse, which is today used by amateur radio operators. From the guardhouse, where there is an inscription box, we continue sharply left in the direction of the mountain hut Kapunerhütte, and then on an appropriate place we leave the marked path and to the summit of Kapunar we ascend on one of several worse footpaths, which lead to the top.
