Rudijev dom na Donački gori - Donačka gora

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Dramlje and follow the road ahead in the direction of Šentjur, Rogaška Slatina and Rogatec. In Rogatec signs for Donačka gora point us to the left. Ahead at the crossroads we follow the signs for Donačka gora and Rudijev dom. A well-marked road then brings us to the mountain hut Rudijev dom, near of which we park.

Path description:
From the mountain hut Rudijev dom we continue on a macadam road in the direction of Donačka gora. After few ten meters we come to a crossing, where we continue right on a cart track which starts ascending. After additional few steps of walking, we get to the information board, which marks the beginning of virgin forest Donačka gora. Cart track then changes into a well-beaten footpath which is ascending in zig-zags. The path which runs through the forest higher brings us to the memorial plate, which is placed in the memory of dr. Ernstu Froelichu, who in the year 1853 made the path on Donačka gora. This was also the first marked mountain path in Slovenia. And the path ahead quickly brings us on the ridge of Donačka gora, where the path turns left and in few minutes of ascent brings us on the western peak.
If we want we can extend the ascent also on the nearby 20 minutes distant eastern peak.
